"My experience as a student in the Graduate and Professional Studies Program at Saint Joseph's College of Maine has been nothing short of terrific! I am able to work at my own pace, fitting course work around my work and travel schedule, and I can apply immediately to my career what I am learning in my business classes. I also know that I can count on my advisor, the faculty and the GPS administration to support and advise me. They have my best interests as a student at heart and I value their commitment to helping me achieve my educational goals."

"I have really enjoyed my experience at Saint Joseph's College. I am enrolled in the General Studies Program and have nothing but good things to say about the professors, instructors, and all the staff, especially my advisor who has really taken the time to assist me and answer any questions I have had. I chose Saint Joseph's College because of its Christian background; the friendly environment and my personal experience is testimony to the Colleges' true character. I am quite confident upon completion that the knowledge I have acquired at Saint Joseph's will be a tremendous benefit to me, my present employer, and any future employment endeavors I wish to seek."

Cassie Dove
General Studies student
Cassie was able to be full time (4 courses at a time)student and complete her bachelor's in under 4 years while being a full time mom and music teacher.
"If ANYONE would have told me 4 years ago that I would be able to finish my bachelor's degree while raising my young daughter on a farm in Maine, I would have laughed, but Saint Joseph's College made it possible. With their General Studies Program (focus in Adult Education and Training) in the Graduate and Professional Studies Department of Saint Joseph's, I was able to be full time (4 courses at a time) and complete my bachelor's in just under 4 years while being a full time mom and music teacher.
My wonderful advisor, Carolyn Bellerose, gave me the confidence I needed everytime I signed up for 4 more courses and working with me to complete my goal. With Carolyn's knowledge and skills she was able to guide me in the right direction and choose courses that would not only benefit my education process but benefit me in my second career as an educator in secondary schools. I'm proud to be moving onto the MSED program at Saint Joseph's College and intend to finish that degree in one year, and with Saint Joseph's GPS it's possible to obtain those dreams."

"Wasn't I surprised when I started working for Distance Education at Saint Joseph's College of Maine, now six years ago. Over the past few years it has been hard to keep up with the many changes that have occurred in a seeminly seamless way. I was, in the beginning, intimidated by the technology that was rapidly coming available to me. It has shown me that when you put some great minds to task, you can get amazing results.
Although I do not work on campus, I have never felt that this made me different than \"real\" professors. I, then, realized that I was responsible for making myself a part of all of the changes occurring around me. My observations of all of the GPS staff and faculty are quality individuals in both their own fields and in sharing the desire to be part of the process of change. Change is good! Spirits rise and excitement runs through the blood. We, the staff and faculty, can advocate and oversee that the needs of all of our students must be foremost.
To be responsible for someone's learning experiences is an unformidable act and we are all doing it little by little, day by day. SJCME is moving forward and always works hard to support and nurture how those changes impact staff, faculty and our students. It is a fantastic journey. I'd encourage anyone to come to SJCME, as a day student or an online student."

"The faculty is chosen for their demonstrated excellence in their field and students benefit from their contacts with such qualified experts. Students can find that assistance with course work is readily available through the updated web-based course designs, discussion boards, and ongoing connections with fellow students and faculty alike.
Excellence is not just an institutional value at Saint Joseph's College; it is an expectation that is lived each day and in each contact with the student.
I've enjoyed and continue to enjoy the vast array of adult learners who've taken any of the 3 courses that I facilitate, and continue to thank them for what they have taught me in these 8 years of being a faculty member in the GPS program at Saint Joseph's."
