Health Administration Certificates & Continuing Education Programs
Get the Education You Need for Licensure or Certification!
Certificate programs are offered in Health Administration and Long-Term Care Administration. The benefit of earning a certificate in one of these areas is that it provides a relatively quick method of preparing yourself for entry-level positions in health care settings. The certificate programs only require you to complete six courses (18 credits).
The health administration certificate provides basic education in health care systems, human resource management, financial management and ethical and legal aspects of healthcare. These courses provide an excellent framework for success in entry-level positions in hospitals, outpatient services, and other primary care settings.
The long-term care administration certificate provides the education necessary to manage long-term care facilities. This program includes courses in system, human resources and financial management, as well as legal and regulatory issues in long-term care. An internship, although not part of the certificate program, is available to meet administrator-in-training (AIT) requirements for licensure.
The certificates and individual courses meet a number of needs, including serving as refresher course, meeting state licensure regulations and meeting continuing education requirements.
Meet Continuing Education Requirements!
Online courses are also available for credit as individual continuing education classes. Individual or groups of courses within the health administration programs may be taken for continuing education purposes as desired. In particular the annual health administration symposium is an excellent opportunity to earn continuing education credits. Check with your licensing agency to determine how many credits may be earned in this manner.
