24th Annual Golf Classic Fundraiser

The Cultural Affairs Committee has announced the fall 2014 Lecture Series.

These events are free to attend and open to the community. The series begin on Friday, September 12, when Maurice Fitzpatrick visits campus for a 3 p.m. screening and discussion on his 2013 documentary, Translations Revisited, which chronicles the creation of Brian Friel's play Translations. Learn more about what will be offered this fall.

VP Joanne Bean joins the Maine Center for Creativity board of directors

Jean Maginnis, founder and executive director of the Maine Center for Creativity (MCC), welcomed Joanne Bean, vice president and chief advancement officer at Saint Joseph's College, as the organization’s newest board member at the board’s annual meeting.

Bean recently joined Saint Joseph's College after serving as the senior director of development for the Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor. A registered nurse and having earned an MBA, Bean is a recognized development professional with a reputation for building relationships and clearly communicating between differing constituencies.

Saint Joseph's College's Pearson's Town Farm Awarded Grant

Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Foundation, Maine Sunday Telegram, and SOURCE have announced 12 recipients of the $100,000 Maine Local Foods grants program, and one of the recipients is Saint Joseph's College's Pearson's Town Farm.

The grants program, launched in April 2014, was designed to support nonprofit local food distribution organizations in Maine–including farmer's markets, food pantries, community co-ops, statewide or regional farm-to-school programs, and community or school gardens–with individual grants of up to $15,000.

Service All Around: Roy Mellon '13, MATPT

Originally from Saginaw, Michigan, Roy Mellon spent more than 20 years in the U.S. Air Force. Now retired and living in Korea for 11 years, he's serving the U.S., the Catholic Church, and fellow believers in his new role as deacon. For Mellon, service has never meant so much.

Online student recognized by Next Step Maine

Saint Joseph's College Online student Emilie Douglass has been recognized by Next Step Maine and GWI as an "Employee of Promise." Douglass's recognition includes a scholarship to continue pursuing her associate degree in business administration online from Saint Joseph's College.
